The following are examples of standard and bespoke mechanical skills training courses we have provided our customers at their premises:
Pneumatics Part 1 & Part 2
Fluid power provides the energy necessary to exert mechanical force and drive systems. Pneumatics Parts 1 and 2 have been designed as a general introduction to pneumatic systems.
The programmes teach delegates about the design construction and operation of pneumatic components. The course starts with the theory of air and gas laws, pneumatic symbols and circuits, delegates then goes on to select components and build circuits making the necessary adjustments for pressure, flow and sequence.
Following the completion of the programmes, technicians will have broadened their understanding and will be competent to carry out maintenance tasks on pneumatic and electro-pneumatic circuits.
TIG Welding Training
Our TIG Welding training course is designed for experienced welders to enable them to renew their coding.
The candidate will demonstrate his/her ability to:
Operate TIG welding plant
Produce welds to BS4872
Show his/her knowledge, experience and have the confidence to use these skills on basic welding jobs in the workshop
Make safe and effective repairs
Operate within the Health and Safety at Work Act
The course raises the delegate’s skill level to the standard of BS4872 by the use of practical welding with lectures on:
Use of safe systems of work
Control of substances hazardous to health
Personal protective equipment
Process applications
MIG Welding Training
MMA Welding Training
Our MIG and MMA Welding training courses are designed for experienced welders to enable them to renew their coding.
The purpose of these courses is for candidates to be able to demonstrate his/her ability to:
Operate MIG welding plant
Operate MMA welding plant
Produce welds to BS4872
Show his/her knowledge, experience and have the confidence to use these skills on basic welding jobs in the workshop
Make safe and effective repairs
Operate within the Health and Safety at Work Act
Banksman/Slinger
Our one day training course provides refresher training for Operators, Banksman and Slingers. The course teaches:
Pre-operational checks:
Task 1 – Carry out site safety checks
Task 2 – Carry out load safety checks
Task 3 – Liaise with crane driver to assess the lifting operations
Task 4 – Direct crane driver correctly
End of shift: Hook Raised & Secure – No Load on Hook – Crane left safe and secure

Logical Approach to Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis
Our City & Guilds accredited Logical Approach to Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis is a 3 day course which provides technicians with the confidence and ability to identify and fix common faults, reducing downtime.
On completion of this course, delegates will quickly identify the root cause of a fault, using recognised methodologies that provide a logical thought process to common equipment failures.
